Title

Doing Qurbani of an animal with a disease

Question

Assalamu alykum warahmTullah.
Sir, I have a question regarding qurbani.
If an animal is slaughtered for qurbani and after that we came to know that the animal has a disease that its meat can not be eaten because of that disease. Is the qurbani valid or not?

Wassalamu alykum warahmTullah

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

In the enquired situation, the qurbani will be valid. The validity of the qurbani does not depend on the meat being eaten or not.[1]
