Masturbating whilst fasting

This is my first time and i have a question related to fasting. The question is "Does masturbating lead to breaking of the fast?" If yes, then what is the remedy for this and what is the kaffara? is the kaffara cumpolsary?

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Masturbating is a major sin and prohibited in Shariah. Therefore, one should sincerely repent from this evil habit.

In the state of fasting, if one ejaculates after masturbating, then he will have to make up for this fast by keeping a Qadha fast only, there will be no kaffarah. [1]
