Title: Query received from New Zealand regarding Majlisul Ulamas recent postings.

Question

Asalamualaikum Mufti Sb What is Askimam’s and Mufti Ebrahim Desai’s reply to TheMajilis and Mufti AS Desai regarding the article on his website which states that Mufti Ebrahim Desai is deviated? http://www.themajlis.co.za/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1188:salaat-is-the-central-pillar-of-islam&catid=34:majlis-articles&Itemid=27

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

At the outset, we record the following.

Hazrat Mufti Ebrahim Desai Saheb (May Allah Ta’āla protect him) endeavours to respond to queries according to the Shariah and Hanafi School of Thought to the best of his ability. However, Hazrat Mufti Saheb (May Allah Ta’āla protect him) is not infallible.

If any competent and reliable Aalim or Mufti points out an error in his Fatawa, he considers that objectively and if needs be he retracts from that fatwa.

Hazrat Mufti Saheb (May Allah Ta’āla protect him) respects academic differences of Ulama and avoids any confrontations and disputes.

We have observed the postings of Hazrat Mufti A.S. Desai Saheb Mudda Zilluhu on 14th and 15th December 2017.

Hazrat Mufti Saheb (May Allah Ta’āla protect him) has decided to correspond with him personally. Hazrat Mufti Saheb (May Allah Ta’āla protect him) also overlooks the derogative remarks made against him and wishes to focus on the academic issues.

We advise you to avoid any disrespect to Hazrat Mufti A.S. Desai Saheb Mudda Zilluhu or entertain evil thoughts about him.

We humbly request your pious duas that Allah keep us on the path of Siratul Mustaqeem. Ameen.
