Title: If a person says Madῑnah's curd is sour will he become a kāfir or a fāsiq?

Question

AsSalamu alaikum

If a person says that madinah's curd is sour will he become a kafir or a faasiq ? What if his intention is not to demean the prophet's city ?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

The individual who makes such a statement in reference will not be considered a kāfir nor a fāsiq.[1] However, when making any statements about Madina Shareef and related issues, one should be extremely careful even if one has a good intention.
