Where is the Hadeeth in which the first meeting between Rasullulllah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) and Hadhrat Jabir Bin Sulaim (Radhiyallahu Anhu) found?


In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.


The Hadeeth in reference is:

و عن جابر بن سليم قال: «أتيت المدينة، فرأيت رَجُلاً يَصْدُر الناس عن رأيه، لا يقول شيئاً إلا صَدَرُوا عنه، قلت: من هذا؟ قالوا: هذا رسولُ الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم- قال: فقلت: عليك السلام يا رسول الله - مرتين - فقال: لا تَقُلْ: عليك السلام، فإن ذلك تحيّة الميت، قل: السلام عليك، قلت: أنت رسولُ الله؟ قال: أنا رسولُ الله الذي إن أصابك ضُرّ، فدعوتَه كشَفَهُ عنك، وإن أصابك عامُ سَنَةٍ، فدعوته أنْبَتَهَا لك، وإن كنت بأرضٍ قَفْر، أو فَلاة، فَضَلَّتْ رَاحِلَتُكَ، فدعوتَهُ ردَّها عليك، قلت: اعْهَدْ إليَّ، قال: لا تَسُبّنّ أحداً، قال: فما سَبَبْتُ بعد ذلك حُرّاً ولا عبداً، ولا شاةً ولا بعيراً، قال: ولا تَحْقِرَنَّ شيئاً من المعروف، وأن تُكلِّمَ أخاك وأنت مُنْبَسِطٌ إليه بوَجْهِكَ، فإن ذلك من المعروف، وارفع إِزَارَكَ إلى نِصف الساق، فإن أبَيْتَ فإلى الكعبين، وإياك وإسْبَالَ الإزار فإنها من المخِيلة، وإن الله لا يُحِبُّ المخيلة، وإن امرُؤ شَتَمَكَ أو عَيَّرَك بما يَعْلَمُ فِيكَ فَلا تُعَيِّرْهُ بما تَعلم فيه، يكن وبال ذلك عليه
