Question

Nikah is best conducted in a masjid. However women are not allowed to enter masjid during mensuration. What is the solution for it? When does fasting become compulsory and at what age?

Answer

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Assalaamu `alaykum waRahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

1.  Women are prohibited to come to the masjid irrespective of them being in menses or not.  With modern technology, there could be various ways for people out of the masjid to listen to the nikah conducted in the masjid.  A simple example is, a person is in the haram of makka puts /switches on his mobile phone and his family anywhere in the world would listen to the imam in the Haram.

2.  Fasting is compulsory upon every sane and mature muslim who witness’s the month of Ramadan.
